P.D.O. Threads: What are they and why do I love them?
What are P.D.O. Threads? PDO threads are a revolutionary treatment for skin tightening, lifting, filling and smoothing. The threads are made of PDO (polydioxanone) suture material which have been used in pediatric heart surgery for many years. These sutures stimulate new collagen production around the area that they are placed. In facial cosmetic procedures, these threads are gently placed under the skin in desired areas. Therefore, when placed they can stimulate your own new, natural collagen and replace what has been lost due to aging. Two basic types of threads available are “smooth” and “lifting” and they each have their own indication.
